Friend-a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard
True-firm in allegiance; loyal; faithful; steadfast
so it stands to reason that "true friend" is a person attached to another by feelings who is loyal &steadfast
(just the two combined)
I just am not sure these days....of a lot of things.
